Printmaking – Xinjie Ma http://xinjie.co Graphic Designer Tue, 08 Sep 2015 20:30:41 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=4.5.2 Light & Space /portfolio/light-space/ Sun, 12 Jul 2015 02:48:38 +0000 /?post_type=jetpack-portfolio&p=65 Through the study and interrogation of the relationship between space and light, echoing the properties of light, a collection of printmaking works that aim to explore the intricately complex nuances in the representation of a subject that walks in the line between the physical and the metaphysical.

Window and Shadow: A print to capture the directional property of light through the simplest mean, and yet also produces an illusionary spatial effect.

Three Spotlights: A print to capture and represent the subtlety and nuances of overlapping spotlights, making the light into a physical form;

Two Rooms: The manipulation of gradients symbolise the intensity of light sources, creating a sense of spatial depth within the form of two rooms;

A Sphere: A print that captures the radiating depth when a light source projects onto a sphere, creating a sense of physicality without the actual object;

Medium: Black and white relief print with gold letterpress on 300g Somerset Satin paper, kraft poster tubes with gold folio labels

Dimensions: 560 x 760mm

** Prints will be available to be sold at LCC Show Shop during the summer exhibition or you could contact me directly.
